NAPA AUTOPRO - SOARES AUTO REPAIR Car Repair

“I had a really great experience at Hastings Minit-Tune today. I went in to get my fluids checked and a belt replaced, but both the staff and the manager really went above and beyond to make sure everything was safe and made me feel taken care of. They were super thorough, professional and very fair with pricing. It’s hard to find a shop you can actually trust, so I’ll definitely be back.“

Arbutus Service Centre Ltd Car Repair

“After months of ongoing issues with my 2016 CR-V that multiple dealerships weren’t able to properly diagnose, I finally brought my car to Arbutus Service Centre — and I’m so glad I did. Steve took the time to listen to the full history, reviewed all the previous paperwork, and methodically went through the diagnostics. He was able to replicate the issue, identify the root cause (a misfire in cylinder 2 tied to the injector and valve adjustment), and carry out the necessary repairs.

The difference in how the car drives now is night and day — it has more power, a smoother idle, and it finally feels reliable again. Steve was transparent throughout the process, explained his reasoning clearly, and never tried to upsell unnecessary work. His approach stood in stark contrast to the dealerships I’d dealt with earlier, and I truly feel like I have my car back.

I can’t recommend Steve and the team at Arbutus enough if you’re looking for thorough, honest, and skilled work. They earned my trust completely.“

DC Motorworks Car Repair

“Derek at DC Motorworks has been our family mechanic for 16 years now. He is super honest, rates are reasonable and he gives you a timeline when things need to be done next. If things don't need to be done now, he'll tell you. He won't gouge you for cash like other mechanics. That's honesty and integrity there, my friends. He was recommended by a friend of mine and now I recommend him to all my friends and family. His crew is super talented as well and the courtesy cars are a nice addition, if you need them.

Update: Came back to the hood and went back to DC Motorworks… they haven’t changed at all and that’s a great thing!“

NAPA AUTOPRO - Champlain Service Car Repair

“My girlfriend’s mom’s Ford wouldn’t start at Champlain Square and we had to leave it there overnight. We stopped by this shop right after, but they were already closed. Thankfully, the attendant at the Petro station was able to take the keys and safely pass them on to the shop first thing in the morning.

Even though she didn’t end up getting the vehicle repaired here, they still had a technician walk over to the car and do a complimentary check. That level of helpfulness and care was really appreciated. Great customer service!“

Canadian Tire Auto Service Centre Car Repair

“When we were exporting/importing our car from the US to Canada, we were led on a not-so-merry go round of frustration with trying to get our failed car (running lights needs to stay on in Canada) passed in Canada. Canadian Tire was saying we had to go to a KIA dealership and EVERY KIA dealership in Lower Mainland said that I had to go to Canadian Tire.

20 phone calls and actual visits to auto repair shops later (and being mansplained at every turn), I finally landed on Jonathan, front desk person at Canadian Tire Cambie, who actually went to ask the Foreman and Licenses Technician.Rob Makarewicz.

Robert came out and explained why this was such a difficult thing to do and why NOONE in the lower mainlain could seem to be able to do this. He had done something similar on another make of car, looked at the electrical plan of both before he talked to us, and figured that they were similar and that he could do it.

And he did. So we didn't have to go back to the States to sell the car just because the running lights wouldn't turn on.

Lesson: find the right gatekeeper who is commited to helping you and trust the boss who uses creative problem solving to fix the problem.

Thank you Jonathan and Rob!“
