“I called New Horizons to be proactive in finding care because my insurance changed, I’m 33 weeks pregnant, and my current OBGYN office told me they don’t believe they take my new insurance and would have to get back to me. When I called New Horizons, they confidently said they do take the new insurance I have (CHAMPVA) and even told me about their sister clinic as another option, if needed. I can’t remember the name of the woman I spoke to initially when I told her about my situation, but she was understanding and answered all my questions. I called on a Tuesday and she squeezed me in for an appointment the upcoming Monday.<br>Long story short, I did not have to go to the appointment because my original OBGYN got back to me (after I called multiple times) and told me that they in fact do accept my new insurance. I called New Horizons back and spoke with Chelsea. I let her know that I would not be needing the appointment anymore as I received confirmation that my current OBGYN does in fact take my new insurance. Chelsea was really nice. She thanked me for letting them know ahead of time and not doing a no-show. I thanked her for their office squeezing me in so last minute because I thought I was going to have to find new prenatal care at 33 weeks pregnant. My interaction with New Horizons shows how much they really do care about people. I also learned a really great fact about them: there’s two providers in rotation at this location and they both are female, which is VERY nice, because I would have either seen the doctor or the NP (and not a handful of random providers like most OBGYN offices). While part of me is relieved that I don’t have to switch my prenatal care this late into my pregnancy, I was kind of looking forward to working with everyone at New Horizons 🥲”

“Best experience ever with a provider!!!<br><br>Let me preface that for all my gyno procedures I prefer women! However, when considering Planned Parenthood and current political climate and funding issues, I have no expectations for a female or male provider. I am happy that Planned parenthood still exists and is able to give back to community!<br><br>Second, years ago, I had a woman provider insert or try to insert an IUD. I am very high anxiety and was unable to go through the process due to pain. Today, I expected a similar experience and buckled up for a ride.<br><br>Well, NICK made my birthday!!! He was so gentle, so knowledgeable, so amazing! I recommend it for everyone! Such incredibly amazing service. He is gentle and patient! I will choose him and recommend him to all my friends and family!<br><br>I am grateful for him, considering how traumatized I was by my past experience over 15yrs ago!<br><br>So ladies, meet the provider first and see if you are comfortable with them! Dont make your decision based on gender alone! “I worked with Madeline Chelko from 8 weeks pregnant to 2 months postpartum and I cant rave enough about her.<br>I am type 1 diabetic and over 35 and I had heard some real horror stories regarding MFMs. I was dreading my first appointment and upon meeting her I immediately felt better about what was to come.<br>Madeline kept a tight leash on my numbers but didnt make me feel like I was in a prison the entire pregnancy. She happily not only answered, but EXPLAINED everything to me when I had questions.<br>I really truly enjoyed seeing her every 2 weeks and felt that me (and my baby) were well cared for.<br>Madeline is really wonderful as are most of the staff at the Estrella office (specific shout out to Victoria and Destiny!)<br>I wish i could continue going to her for my normal diabetic care.
