“I called New Horizons to be proactive in finding care because my insurance changed, I’m 33 weeks pregnant, and my current OBGYN office told me they don’t believe they take my new insurance and would have to get back to me. When I called New Horizons, they confidently said they do take the new insurance I have (CHAMPVA) and even told me about their sister clinic as another option, if needed. I can’t remember the name of the woman I spoke to initially when I told her about my situation, but she was understanding and answered all my questions. I called on a Tuesday and she squeezed me in for an appointment the upcoming Monday.
Long story short, I did not have to go to the appointment because my original OBGYN got back to me (after I called multiple times) and told me that they in fact do accept my new insurance. I called New Horizons back and spoke with Chelsea. I let her know that I would not be needing the appointment anymore as I received confirmation that my current OBGYN does in fact take my new insurance. Chelsea was really nice. She thanked me for letting them know ahead of time and not doing a no-show. I thanked her for their office squeezing me in so last minute because I thought I was going to have to find new prenatal care at 33 weeks pregnant. My interaction with New Horizons shows how much they really do care about people. I also learned a really great fact about them: there’s two providers in rotation at this location and they both are female, which is VERY nice, because I would have either seen the doctor or the NP (and not a handful of random providers like most OBGYN offices). While part of me is relieved that I don’t have to switch my prenatal care this late into my pregnancy, I was kind of looking forward to working with everyone at New Horizons 🥲“

“Honestly great, chill experience. I came in for a routine pap & front desk let me know it was male providers only (they’ll happily rebook at another location if you want female) & I usually go to females.. but I decided to give it a go and Nicholas was my provider & truly great job. He made me feel comfortable & talked me through the whole thing & I didn’t feel judged or anything & front desk staff and medical assistant were super nice too. Vibes were vibing <3“

“I had an ultrasound appointment today, and I can honestly say it was one of the most positive medical experiences I’ve ever had. The ultrasound tech created a calm and welcoming environment that immediately put me at ease. And she was very understanding and compassionate even though I made the mistake of arriving late to my appointment. I wasn’t shamed for it but was seen right away!
