Let me preface that for all my gyno procedures I prefer women! However, when considering Planned Parenthood and current political climate and funding issues, I have no expectations for a female or male provider. I am happy that Planned parenthood still exists and is able to give back to community!
Second, years ago, I had a woman provider insert or try to insert an IUD. I am very high anxiety and was unable to go through the process due to pain. Today, I expected a similar experience and buckled up for a ride.

This was my first time at a Planned Parenthood and honestly, I had a great experience. I didn't know what to expect, but it's basically like any other medical clinic.
I made an appointment online for the next morning and scheduling was extremely easy and convenient. They took my insurance and I paid a co-pay. I filled out all of the forms online before I got there, so the process was streamlined.
The receptionist, medical assistant and nurse were all great. Very friendly, kind and helpful.
I saw the sign that there would be a male practitioner, but I wound up with a female, Hope, who was fantastic. She knew her stuff and was honest, informed, and easy to talk to.
Honestly great, chill experience. I came in for a routine pap & front desk let me know it was male providers only (they’ll happily rebook at another location if you want female) & I usually go to females.. but I decided to give it a go and Nicholas was my provider & truly great job. He made me feel comfortable & talked me through the whole thing & I didn’t feel judged or anything & front desk staff and medical assistant were super nice too. Vibes were vibing <3
