I like this because she is able to assess your dog and meet your needs in the dogs own environment. Lucy (my dog)loved the training! “Our 2 pitties did a 4 week board & train with Jose and they came back with new skills, and they’re way more eager to please. We now attend his Saturday classes almost every weekend for socialization and the dogs are always so excited to see him; he treats them like they’re his own. Jose has created an awesome dog community in Scottsdale and he is a great trainer & friend to both the dogs and their owners. We would recommend him to anyone that asked.“

“My wife and I had been looking for dog training for our little dog Charlie. Other at home trainers were going to use an e-collar but we didn’t feel good about it. We found Balanced Pooches and thought we would give it a try. John trains you, the owner, how to effectively use positive reinforcement, and leadership training to get your dog to listen and be your friend. It’s a very personable experience. He gives you the tools you need to continue training your dog after the sessions are finished. He’s also much cheaper than a lot of alternatives but still provides a quality service. We have seen many positive improvements in Charlie. I wish we had started with John earlier!“

“Phenomenal staff…everyone is so unbelievably kind and loving. We typically see Dr. Schneider and she goes above and beyond to care for my dog, as if he was her own. All other vets and vet techs I’ve interacted with have been empathetic, friendly and caring. I am so grateful that this office is just down the road from me but would continue to travel to this location if I ever moved. Would recommend to anyone in the valley needing a new vet.“

“Yoni, Jenna, and John are amazing. We started with private and group training for our 4-month-old puppy. After a good foundation, we sent him to boarding/training for 3 weeks and WOW the progress has been AMAZING. He is calmer and can be with my two young boys without running around stealing socks, toys, and snacks. He loves his 'place mat' which we can move around the house. Our walks improve every day.

The weekend group training sessions (included with the bootcamp, which is a HUGE bonus) help both me and Kody stay on track while making progress as he continues to grow as a puppy. “My family has been using Hopi for 8+ years now. I now have 4 dogs of my own and Hopi proves time and time again that they’ll go above and beyond to work with me and take care of my pups. They've been there and helped when my puppy was only 4 months old and had an abscess on his elbow from an injury. They've helped when my 4 yr old husky Zeus broke a bone in his arm. Just recently my 7 month old Husky puppy Stryker needed a major emergency surgery. They were willing to get him in quickly and did an amazing job! Without their help I don’t know what we would have done. They answer my questions in a timely manner, are flexible with scheduling and everyone has always been so friendly to us. “I'm so glad I discovered this place. I've used them twice so far this summer and will definitely be a repeat customer. They are very knowledgeable about dog behaviors and it's interesting to get some tips. It's eye opening to hear their observations during my dog's care. It's also fun to get the picture and video updates on the app. This location is also very convenient if you're traveling out of Sky Harbor. There's a parking lot around the corner within walking distance of the Sky Train, it's a one stop shop! So happy with the care my dog has when I'm away.“

Marcene fully understands dogs and you can tell she truly has a passion for taking care of animals. I love that the pups don’t get caged and they get to hang with friends all day and night. We visited about a week before boarding our pets, and the GM was so kind - he took his time with us, explaining their process, answering all of our questions, and giving us a tour. We boarded our 2 little dogs with them for 4 days, and they eased our minds from the 1st day, sending cute pictures of our fur babies with text updates. We look forward to boarding our dogs there again!“

“SuAnn and this school are both nothing short of wonderful. I'm convinced puppy school is more for owners to learn how to be good puppy parents than it is for the puppies, but the dogs learn a lot too during the course. Our double doodle puppy calmed down tremendously over the 6 week course and learned several basic, but very important, commands. We now feel confident taking her out in public knowing that we can control her behavior and enjoy going out with her. SuAnn is a wonderful teacher. It's clear that she loves dogs - and they love her too.“

“We've had several dogs in the past, and various trainers. Nothing ever worked very well, and our dogs were always treat-demanding, poorly behaved, barking in the house, and difficult to walk due to leash-pulling/jumping/barking at other dogs. We had the same problem with our new dog Ollie, our beautiful standard red poodle. After failing several other trainers and various classes, we were referred to Jimi Livshitz of Your Dog Guru. After Jimi trained Ollie at his training facility, he brought Ollie back to us, then Jimi came to our house daily for a number of weeks to train us to be able to not only use all the commands, but to also teach us how to protect Ollie from danger, particularly from poorly controlled dogs. The results of his training are nothing short of a miracle! We are extremely happy! Compared to our pre-Jimi-trained anxious dog who incessantly barked, jumped on guests, ran all over the house, pulled on the leash and so forth (creating lots of misery for us), our post-training Ollie is a happy, loving, self-controlled, obedient dog! Amazingly, all the anxiety and nuisance behaviors are gone! He follows all commands happily, is under control and not distracted, walks off-leash next to our left leg, and plays and lounges with us in the front yard without need for a leash. He follows multiple commands without any problems including properly entering and exiting doors to and from the outside, heel, come, go to kennel, go to cot, place, sit, down, get up on the mailbox or wall, and get in and out of the pool. Ollie is now very happy, loves to play with us, runs on the treadmill unaided for 20 minutes twice a day for additional exercise (which he loves to do and looks forward to) and he does all this readily and without hesitation or needing to repeat commands. The word NO is never required or used now. All he wants is love and praise, and no treats are ever needed. We couldn't be happier. Jimi's training has facilitated an obedient, happy, healthy, and loving partnership for Ollie and us, literally transforming our lives. We feel sorry for all the poorly trained anxious dogs and owners out there. Jimi is a very strong advocate for dogs, and he will not allow punishment, leash neck-yanking, or choke chains to be used. Jimi gets our highest and most enthusiastic recommendation!“

“Absolutely the best vet clinic in Phoenix. My dog is an adopted stray and doesn't trust anyone but me and my husband. Blue Cross Vet knows exactly what to do. When we walk in they take her right away and have a beautiful way of changing her focus. They have wonderful doctors and staff.“

“Absolutely amazing and beyond our expectations! Not only was this our first drop-in daycare experience with our 4 year old Akita, but we are visiting Phoenix from out of state. The staff made us feel so at ease during our initial meet and greet, and were genuinely engaged and attentive to our needs and concerns. We dropped Kuma off the following day and he was greeted by the same familiar handler from his meet and greet. Kuma has to be kept separate from other dogs, so the supervision and one-on-one interaction definitely put him at ease. We intend to take him back in a couple days for a final daycare experience before we head home. Our only regret is that we do not have a comparable quality service near our home. We highly recommend this company to locals and out of town visitors.“
