“I had complex back surgery that lasted 6 hours instead of 4 due to complications during the surgery (internal bleeding and low blood pressure.) I was in the ICU for 4 1/2 days. Was originally told by the surgeon that I would be able to go home after two days in the hospital. Despite the delay, I was pleased that the doctors kept me until they were satisfied I could safely go home. My recovery at 3 weeks post surgery is going well. I am a 78-year-old widower from Auburn.“

“In August of 2024, my son was air flighted to UAB for rhinovirus. We had no clue that he had underlining health issues (asthma), but the doctors quickly and compassionately helped us through a new and scary time for us. My son was 10 at the time and never showed signs of having asthma so we never thought anything of it. He was in the PICU for 24 hours for close monitoring and the staff was INCREDIBLE. He was in the hospital for 4 days and was treated with so much love and kindness. I knew that the healthcare team truly cared and was invested in helping my son become healthy again. Fast forward to this morning, he ended up needing surgery for a DIFFERENT medical reason. The urology team went above and beyond ONCE again. The anesthesiologist team, Dr. Tanaka and their staff made the process quick, easy and took TREMENDOUSLY great care of my baby boy. He is home recovering now, but because of their great care, and endless information and post-op instructions, I know he will recover quickly. We LOVE UAB so much and can’t thank them enough for their staff and doctors. ❤️“

“I do not know why a few people are listing negative visit experiences. I go to the office in Cahaba Heights, Dr Lippard for 5 years and both the staff and doctors are great. Maybe they are talking about an office in another city.“

“Almost free Healthcare. Recommend if you are low/no income like me, not qualified for medicaid, medicare, and don't qualify for discount thru Gov Healthcare Marketplace. They do take some insurance. No insured, a Visit, out of pocket sliding scale = lowest is $35 per issue/per visit. They have a General Practitioner for basic checkups and minor issues, however there's no specialty care, but they can give a referral, but might not be low cost if out of pocket. Psychiatric/mental illness care with medicine prescribed(no controlled substances). GREAT, CHEAP PHARMACY for medicine their Docs prescribe(not for medicine prescribed elsewhere) 5 stars!
