She is organized, articulate, and genuinely cares about the dogs and their owner’s progress. The training tools we learned in class and practiced at home completely transformed our walks! Unlike other training programs we’ve tried (big-box pet stores), Brittany provided thoughtful, personalized guidance that made a real difference. Now, we not only enjoy our walks again, but we also have reliable tools (plus backups!) to redirect Binx’s focus when he does start to get a little excited. “We absolutely love The Dog Sanctuary in Sussex, and so does our 1-year-old Bernedoodle, Phoenix! He’s extremely social and high-energy, and this has been the perfect place for him to play, socialize, and burn off some energy.

Sarah and her team are incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely care about every dog that comes through their doors. We’re still working on some obedience training with Phoenix, and they’ve been nothing but patient, understanding, and supportive in our efforts. We truly appreciate their commitment to creating a safe, fun, and well-managed environment for all dogs.

“We were so nervous to take our tiny 4lb puppy to daycare for the first time. He’s been struggling with separation anxiety at home and we thought there was no way he would make it through a full day of daycare. Central Bark made the whole process so easy and enjoyable. I received an update during the day that he was doing great and he made it through the day with an awesome report and some great resources and photos to go along with it. They somehow got him to sleep in a crate during the day (a feat we are struggling with so much at home) and he played with other doggy friends for the first time! “We have 2 Labs, 8 years old, and 5 months old. We started going to Chas for training because our older had some behavior problems (pulling on walks, barking at people walking by the house, mostly). After getting our new puppy, we decided it was time to get serious about training.....starting off with the new puppy on the right foot, and getting the older to behave better. Well, it's been quite impressive what our dogs are like now compared to when we started, and we still have more lessons to go!Peaceful pull-free walks, following commands SO much better, counter surfing drastically reduced and almost gone! etc. Chas is truly an expert at training dogs, and when you put the work in, meaning you do EXACTLY WHAT HE SAYS, you get results. Going to Dog's Best Friend has been the best decision we ever made with our dogs. Hands down, the BEST! Everything and every other method we've tried has been a waste of time. We 10000% recommend Chas if you are committed to seeing amazing behavior changes from your dog. It's hard work that takes patience and some time, but the results keep us motivated to keep going. Chas is seriously the best and worth your time and money.“

“TL:DR - competent, compassionate, and communicative.

We had a great experience doing one-on-one training with Jennifer for our dog who has anxiety and reactivity. After struggling for months to find a trainer due to either receiving advice we weren't comfortable with (punishment-based) or just being ghosted, it was a huge relief to find someone who communicated clearly about availability, responded directly to our specific concerns, and who could teach us how to teach our dog in an effective and compassionate way. Pancake still has a ways to go but she's responded beautifully to positive reinforcement and is already doing things we thought were "reach" goals (walking reasonably calmly past other dogs on leash, becoming comfortable around a select few houseguests). Importantly, Jennifer explains the "how" in a way that allows us to apply the skills we're learning in multiple situations. We also know that we have a resource available to us in the future, should we come upon a new issue that we don't know how to approach, which has provided a lot of peace of mind. Highly recommend.“

“For the past 5 years I have groomed my Pomeranian at home and as he gets older he is less tolerant of me grooming him, so I am beyond excited to finally found a groomer I can trust. Mera was so patient with him and at a point he didn’t even need his muzzle! To hear my boy felt safe enough with her was the absolute best. Pricing is definitely reasonable and will depend on size and length of hair. Every dog deserves to feel safe and look great after a groom. Do yourself and your pup a favor and get them a spa day here!!“

“Our family dog recently received treatment from Dr. Selin. Ultimately, we had to make the decision to euthanize our dog after exhausting all good options. Dr. Selin and the tech were kind, and compassionate. They made our Sammy comfortable with treats, a toy, and a blanket, as a medicine relaxed him before euthanasia. It was such a hard day, and they did what they could to make it easier.“

“We were able to get our dog in quickly for an appointment when she had an eye infection, when our normal vet couldn't see her for days. The prices were very reasonable and everyone was so nice. I would consider making this my regular vet in the future.“

“I would proudly recommend Westown to my family and friends for their fur babies.

I adopted my dog as a puppy during the pandemic, and the previous vet we took him to didn't allow me inside for his visits (which I understand as a healthcare worker) but they repeated the same treatments to no effect for his intestinal worms.

I was referred to Westown by a family friend, and am so glad I made the visit. Dr. V gave my puppy an antibiotic instead of an antiworming medication, and started him on a probiotic, and it made all the difference. He was a completely different dog - no more accidental diarrhea in the house, no more vomiting, no more worms, and he looked so much healthier and happier.

This has been my go-to vet since. They are always so happy to see my dog, and are so gentle and sweet with him. I wouldn't go anywhere else, and get excited for his annual vet visits because I know he loves them too.“

“These groomers helped my friend when she adopted badly matted pooch. They took this emergency case when nobody else would help her. It took two days to groom the poor baby but she came out amazingly beautiful. We are so grateful to these professionals for their kindness, compassion, expediency, patience, and professionalism.
