“After worrying about a special gutter above a glass roof on our home for a few years, I decided it was time to find a fix. This gutter was leaking and causing drips on the deck below, I was also worried that the water intrusion may cause a big problem by rotting out the facia. It was also hard for an 82-year-old guy to clean. I heard an advertisement for Pacific Gutter Company in Vancouver, WA on the radio and decided to call. The nice lady I talked to on the phone (I think her name was Emily) said that the gutter I needed help with didn't meet the minimum length and asked if I would be interested in getting a quote for a complete replacement of our gutters. Over the years our home had the roof replaced, where some facia had to be replaced, and I built an addition that made a very long, standard size gutter somewhat inadequate, so I agreed to get a quote and an appointment was made.
Phoenix, a gutter consultant from Pacific Gutter came out a couple days later and showed us the many advantages of the Gutter Shutter. It is bigger than the regular gutter and downspouts, has heavy duty attachments at every rafter tail, and the top cover is separate. Phoenix was helpful in explaining and answering all of our questions and explained the processes like if they found a bad facia board when the old gutters were removed. We were impressed with the Gutter Shutter system and signed up for our home, my shop and a garden shed to be done. Note: Phoenix called yesterday (Saturday) to check and make sure everything was ok.
Our install was scheduled for the next week. Trevor the installer showed up as scheduled and completed the install in one day. Trevor is a very impressive young man and worked continuously, keeping us up to date as he progressed. The new gutter/downspouts being bigger created some challenges that Trevor had to work through, but he did everything we asked, and the job was done professionally and to our satisfaction.
Like all composition roofs around here, moss is an issue. Along with our Gutter Shutter system we got what they call a Roof Soft Wash. Matt from Pacific Gutter came a couple days following the gutter install and did the roof wash, which is essentially spraying a solution on the roof. Over time the moss dies and is removed by the weather.
