The staff are described as professional, caring, and respectful. They responded promptly and thoughtfully to all questions and requests, providing excellent support and service. Their kindness made a difficult time much easier for families.
The cemetery offers a variety of interment options, including above ground and below ground choices, as well as the first columbarium and crematory in the area. The on-site funeral home provides many end-of-life services, such as traditional burial, cremation, and natural organic reduction, all at fair prices. Families appreciate the attention to detail and compassionate care. Overall, Oakwood Hill is highly recommended for its serene environment and dedicated service.
Went here with my mom and the woman who has been helping with the process of cremating my father who passed unexpectedly and suddenly has been so kind and compassionate. She explained the whole process and let us talk about some memories about my dad. The cost is very reasonable compared to everywhere else. After the recent death of a friends son, I was helping her through the daunting task of finding a crematorium to do the cremation. It was a sudden, very unexpected death and it hit her hard, along with having a budget to get it done. My daughter and I found at least 8 places and the prices were anywhere from $1295 + all the way to over $2000 ( quoted by The Neptune Society) who claims to have low cost cremations. Also, if you weighed over 250lbs there was an extra fee for these other places. Oakwood had a basic cremation for $795 and believe me it was including pickup of the remains. Everyone at Oakwood Hill was a complete pleasure to deal with. We are not local to the Tacoma area and needed a simple cremation. I really appreciated the candid discussions of what we needed and no pressure to purchase what we didn't. The staff walked me through the process and informed me of all the procedures to fly home with our loved one's ashes. The entire experience was smooth and we were kept informed every step of the way. The staff went above and beyond to obtain a flag to commemorate our loved one's military service and had it sent to us back home.
