“After contacting 5 tree services and having only two actually show up to give me estimates I was getting pretty frustrated. Sam’s showed up the day after I contacted them. Gave a reasonable bid so I hired them. After scheduling there was a day delay due to mechanical issues which was clearly communicated to me. (Stuff happens especially to equipment so it didn’t bother me a bit.) Polite, professional crew arrived as rescheduled and clarified what exactly I wanted done to my enormous maple tree happily imbedded in power lines. In under two hours they had my dangerous tree back to a safe happy maple. Young man doing the bulk of the cutting impressed me with his skill and knowledge of how to accomplish cutting a bulk of the tree that was wildly overgrown but yet leaving healthy parts to regrow. “For most of the past 13 years my family has purchased a Grand fir from Spokane Boys’ Christmas tree lot located on the upper South Hill, in the Southgate neighborhood. Because we live only ~1/4-mile away, we have made this our u-carry tradition (instead of u-cut, which we have tried but no, or hardly any, Spokane area tree farms have Grands to cut—and my husband is devoted to his all-time favorite type of tree for decorating).Spokane Boys pre-cut trees are consistently healthy. We use the tree stand they recommend and sell, as well as the “tree food.” And we like that we’re supporting a locally-owned business.Through the years we have used this tradition to enjoy a short family walk in the snow across the neighborhood soccer park, often bringing along our dog. For many years we have brought home the yearly tree by carrying in a wheelbarrow, but now our teen son can help carry—teamwork makes the dream work!“
