Yoga Vermont is an ego-free studio for yogis who want to practice is a space that is knowledge-rich & pretention-free. An old-school Ashtanga studio that hosts workshops by yoga luminaries including David Williams, David Swenson & Manju Jois, Yoga Vermont is a great place to discover yoga or deepen your practice. Their Yoga Alliance-approved Yoga Teacher Training Program has a rolling admission & can be tailored so that you can focus on the areas of yoga that interest you the most.
I can't say enough good things about this studio. Kathy is absolutely fantastic; she is my favorite of any Ashtanga instructor I've encountered. She's down to earth, fun, kind, and patient, and her knowledge of the practice is just incredible. The other Ashtangis were welcoming, too, and so inspiring :) I began working with intermediate series here last fall and my practice developed so quickly thanks to Kathy, Leo, and Scott. I broke my back in a snowboarding accident only a couple months after I discovered Yoga Vermont and I really missed practicing there --- if you are looking for a studio (albeit, Ashtanga isn't for everyone, but this isn't a review for that!), this is your place.
My daughter and I had the pleasure of attending our first yoga class in this studio today. We are not from this area and take classes with several different instructors at our home gym. We look for new gyms and Yoga studios when we are out of town. We love that each instructor leads with their own unique teaching style and each form of yoga varies greatly. We both agreed that this was one of the best yoga class we have ever attended. The class we joined knew each other well and were very experienced yogis. Many of the students performed moves that I could only dream of attempting. The instructor and group as a whole made us feel very welcome, and although our ability was far below that of the class, we did not feel out of place. We will definitely return when we're back in the area.
