Sadly, this past week, one of the largest sycamores in Williamsburg had to be taken down. What had grown in our backyard for almost 100 years was taken down in a day after it was hit by lightning. We cannot be grateful enough for the tremendous ability of Dan’s Tree Service for their commitment to this project. From the initial viewing, to the scheduling, to the taking down and cleaning up, their abilities for exceeded our expectations. The crane operator worked with another doing precision sawing and another harnessing limbs with fine choreography within a space of three houses. I've used Dan's Tree Service twice in the past couple years to trim and prune a very large, beautiful crepe myrtle. He sent about 8 crew members to do a job that took less than two hours on 29 December, and charged me a very fair price. Dan could have closed his business for the holiday season, but he did not. With little if any profit on this job, Dan seemed more interested in keeping his employees busy and giving them a paycheck during the holidays. That's a smart business owner who values both his customers and his employees.
