Johnson's Polar Air is absolutely terrific and my go to for anything HVAC. They are friendly, do great work, and at a very reasonable price. They won't sell you on work you don't need, and will even give you advice on basic maintenance you can do yourself. Shout out to Mark, the technician who works on my house, in particular.
Our gas fireplace stopped working, so I asked a friend who recently had a repair done for a recommendation, if they were happy. Johnson’s Polar Air was the recommendation and “ask for Mike.” I neglected to ask for Mike when I called, but Mike was the one who came out. I was given a window of arrival, and Mike and his helper showed up on time. They diagnosed the issue, explained what was wrong, and that they would need to order a part. I paid for their visit and they called the next day with information about how much the part and installation would cost. I agreed. They diagnosed the issue (bad sensor on the pilot light), explained what was wrong, and that they would need to order a part. I paid for their visit and they called the next day with information about how much the part and installation would cost. I agreed. When the part came in, I received a phone call to schedule the repair, and they were out the next day. Not only did they install the new part, they ensured that all the logs were back in place, changed the battery in the remote sensor, and tested the fireplace to make sure it worked properly before leaving. In these times of COVID, they also wore masks the entire time as well as shoe covers. After all was completed, Mike had me look at the fireplace to make sure all was satisfactory before he gave me any paperwork. The cost was exactly as quoted. I’ll be using this company again in the future.
