Consistently a 1-3month wait to see a PCP so you end up having to wait 3hrs at an urgent care elsewhere when you’re sick. They insist on having a monopoly on healthcare in Richmond but can’t provide care to all their members when they need it. And this is just the tip of the issues with them. Disorganized, all the different departments don’t speak to each other so no one ever knows what’s going on with your care, customer service isn’t authorized to actually help with much of anything and you can’t ever get providers to return calls, and don’t even get me started on Billing, an absolute nightmare, I’ve been dealing with them on one bill for literal MONTHS....read full review

The clinical administrator will deny you care here if you have the audacity to report it when a nurse or doctor mistreats you. He will tell you he trusts his team of physicians over you & call you a liar. He will make up fake reasons to justify banning you from the clinic. He has no business in the medical field.EDIT: due to their negligence, I recently found out at another hospital that I might be dying of lymph cancer that could have been caught earlier. My symptoms were always ignored by primary care here at VCU & now I might pay with my life. I'm only 33 years old. I might die young because of these so called "doctors".

Surgery scheduling office = abysmal. Ambulatory Care = perfect. Can't rate the two separately so here's a 3 star split. AMBULATORY CARE The care itself was flawless. Staff was friendly / caring / professional. They treated my son well and the hand surgeon was especially good w him at pre-op. SCHEDULING OFFICE:Yesterday my 16 yr old presented w a work injury of blunt force trauma, which had fractured his little finger at the joint. Doc said "we need to operate tomorrow. The scheduling office will call you by 3:00." When no one called by 3p, I started calling them. All throughout the rest of yesterday it was just, "call back in an hour. / Call back in 2 hours. / If you haven't heard anything, call back at 8:00 am tomorrow morning [day he was sposed to have surgery] for a time" wth? ... Got a vm this morning 7:15 says call to schedule (45 minutes earlier than told last pm). So I called and this day-of phone interaction was the worst. The lady was all: "it's scheduled you're supposed to be here at 8:15."... I don't know how to relay the tone but she was tactless and felt like " what's the matter with you why don't you know this already why are you bothering me?" And then we got disconnected so I immediately hit redial, got someone else, I said "I was just disconnected, can I talk to lady who was helping me?" THIS 2nd lady was all, "How should I know who you were speaking to?" ... Rather than being helpful, or maybe even compassionate, the scheduling office ladies addressed the situation as if I should have been able to intuit what time the surgery was with no information other than the date. Btw my son is 16 and nursing an injury, so he was asleep in bed. Had we *known* a time the day before, he would have woken up in time w an alarm like the responsible human being he is, not been shaken awake & thrown into a car and rushed to surgery w/o any heads up. But we made excellent time, he had the operation. He's recovering now. Alls well that ends well I suppose. .... That scheduling office, tho.
