“Recently (Oct. 2024) I had my right hip replaced. The experience was exceptional in terms of the pre-surgical visit with the Dr. - John H. Matthews who is relatively new to Tidewater Orthopedics. My experience could not have been better and based on several visits with Dr. Matthews, work with the physical therapy personnel and their team approach to patient care, should you need hip replacement surgery, I could not recommend him and the practice more highly. From discussing what was needed based on looking at the Xray film to explaining the steps pre and post operation, I knew what was going to be done and my role at rehabilitation efforts. And I was seen within days of knowing that I had a real problem. Dr. Matthews listens, has a manner about him that is reassuring, knowledgeable and caring.
