“Requested style: First time coming to this shop for my son to get a clean up. He has short starter locs no retwist yet (iykyk). I surprised at how welcoming they all were. My experience with new shops is typically one or two people greeting you and a lot of eyeballs tryna see who you’re there for lol. Leonel didn’t waste time and I got there 45 minutes early. “This is my go-to barbershop in the "hood." It's a meeting spot for most elderly gentlemen who love to converge to chew the fat on the corner of 26th and Marshall Avenue in the City of Newport News, VA.

David Doan, owner, is a down-to-earth brother, who gives all of his customers a fair chance. He's a philanthropist and a no-nonsense people-person.

If I'm not mistaken, He may be the only licensed barber. However, several of the barber chairs are made available for apprentice individuals who may be furthering his/her vocational skills in the barbering business. He trains his staff well and ensures that they are meeting state and regulatory standards and protocols.

Usually, David, can get a customer in and out of his chair in less than 20 minutes, depending on the cut. He's fast, accurate, and pays attention to detail, while not charging his customers an arm and a leg.

They provide quality hair cuts, and they also use natural ingredients on their clients with balding, thinning, dry scalp, and etc. This location carry’s Shenanigans Hairtique products which promotes growth, moisturizing products, and cleansing products. Julie took a QUICK glance and genuinely replicated it. Pure confidence, zero hesitation, and made it look absolutely effortless.

My sons hair is naturally curly due to his ethnic background, but she somehow ENHANCED his curls.
