About Planet Fitness
Planet Fitness is a well-known fitness chain that aims to create a welcoming and accessible environment for individuals of all fitness levels. With over 2,400 locations, the gym provides a variety of equipment and amenities to support members in achieving their fitness goals. The membership plans are often described as "so good and reasonable," making it appealing for those beginning their fitness journeys or seeking an affordable gym. The staff is generally helpful, offering guidance and support to members. Many reviews highlight the cleanliness of the facility and the friendliness of the staff, with one member noting how a staff member named Immanuel went out of his way to assist during bad weather. However, some reviews indicate that there are areas needing improvement. For example, individuals interested in weightlifting may find the limited number of benches and dumbbells frustrating, especially during peak hours when many are waiting for the same equipment. Additionally, there are concerns about some equipment not functioning properly, such as heart rate monitors that do not read accurately. There have also been issues regarding the availability of free Day Passes, as one visitor felt misled by the website's information. Overall, Planet Fitness appears to be a decent choice for those looking for a budget-friendly gym with a friendly atmosphere, though the quality of equipment and facilities may vary by location.
I recently joined and have only visited a couple days. I can't say I am entirely happy due to the following factors.
I am mainly interested in lifting weights and basic body building workout. It's a fairly large gym but there's only 3 bench and a handful of dumbels and weights. That won't be a problem if there weren't 15 guys always waiting in line for the same equipment.
In other words, most of the body building equipment are mostly inaccessible/unavailable during peak hours.
Otherwise, it's a decent place for workout. It's clean, people are nice and equipment are well maintained.
My husband & I joined in 2022, I’m in this gym on average about 5/wk, my hours are mostly mornings but I’ve been there in afternoons too. Immanuel has been great to give us info on equipment when needed. Yesterday it rained really hard & he went outside to clean water-moisture off the windows so patrons could see outside. Other staff mopped the wet flooring at the entrance. It’s been clean & we have been super pleased with the staff. I don’t know anyone else by name but they greet us upon entrance & exit & we are happy with this fitness center!! I did let them know that some of the equipment doesn’t read heart rate correctly & should repaired. Keep up the good...read full review
I was visiting with friends and we decided to try out this Planet Fitness. I’m used to signing up for the free Day Pass via email and showing the employees the email confirmation at the front upon arrival. Instead, as advertised on this location’s website, we stopped by in person to get the free Day Pass. The guy at the front told us that their location doesn’t offer free Day Passes and that we’d have to pay $20 for one. Don’t fall for the website false advertisement like we did. Extremely disappointed by the deceit of Planet Fitness.
