I have been training at Checkmat for 3 years now, and I absolutely love it here. I have met some of the kindest people I've ever known, and made stronger friendships than I could have imagined.
The instructors are incredibly patient. They invest so much time and effort into the kids, making sure they are able to train in a safe, and friendly environment. They genuinely care about the growth and development of each child or adult that trains at Checkmat. Amazing school with amazing and talented coaches, the only school in the Lynchburg area sending kids to ibjjf, excellent fundamentals coach’s that are passionate about teaching kids to perform to their potential and a absolutely brilliant professor (Rob) who brings kids up to a extremely high level of knowledge and performance , the adults in this gym are professional and very welcoming, I travel over an hr on a regular basis to enjoy this wholesome, professional and safe training environment, only gym in Lynchburg I would consider worthwhile
Great training and atmosphere, and both staff and students are extremely friendly and welcoming. I stopped by to train today while visiting family and felt right at home. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area. Highly recommended!
