About Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center
Based on the six reviews, Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center is described as a wonderful place where everything is good, with amazing food, great classes, and nice dorm rooms. The campus is a beautiful gem at night, though there is a lot of walking that can make a person tired. Some staff members are nice, sweet, and caring. However, there is also a lot of drama, and the place can make a person feel dreadful if they do not make friends and stay in their dorm. It is recommended for those who can keep to themselves and make a small circle of trusted ones. A reviewer highly recommends the center and wishes they could go back. Another reviewer notes that for adults above 25 years old, it is not recommended, as they got stuck with young roommates who lacked basic independent living skills. The reviewer suggests changing the minimum age to 22 and up. Overall, the center offers programs like vocational training, life skills, and health occupations, with one student finishing their program in September 2021 after interruptions due to Covid.
My experience of going to Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center was amazing! All the staff and the instructors are very helpful and fantastic with helping students with disabilities find a career of their interest. There are also a lot of fun activities to do at WWRC as well like bowling, swimming, watching movies, playing sports, and so much more. When I was at WWRC I completed different various programs from doing the 10 day pert program twice in high school, the 9week life skills transition program back in 2015(Prep Program), and graduated with a certificate of completion in the 6 month childcare program back in 2016. So in 2019 I had the opportunity of going backing to WWRC to attend the vocational evaluation program for a week where I got excepted into the Materials Handling Program for 5 months. I started the materials handling program at WWRC last year in march, but unfortunately after being there for a week I was sent home due to the start of the pandemic. So this year at the beginning of February I have started the virtual classes for the materials handling programs and so far it's going fantastic. My instructors are amazing at what their doing! I'm hoping to return in person to WWRC and continue my materials handling program sometime this year! I highly recommend anyone that has a disability and your not sure what type of career your interested in to please go to WWRC because the amazing staff and instructors will be happy to help you!
