“We used NV to do a 2nd story addition on our raised rambler. I got 5 bids from 5 builders and NV design was one of the only companies not to bid a completely different job than requested; which I greatly appreciated!The design process with NV was simple, we went back and forth a few times to iron out details and then sent the design to Arlington for permits.The build process was estimated at 14 weeks and we completed in 16 weeks (which is honestly awesome! I've done other large renos on other properties and NV's timeline was very reasonable!). “After interviewing multiple builders, we chose Kingston to put an addition onto our recently purchased house in Reston. This was a big project and we chose them because they had the best combination of understanding our vision, good references, reasonable cost, hand-holding design capabilities, and seemed easy to work with. They gutted an entire floor, knocked out and rebuilt exterior walls, and built three new bedrooms and two new bathrooms. They also built a new deck and screened-in porch.

Design - Emily flawlessly designed our bathrooms which look absolutely amazing and are functional too. She obtained our input and raw vision and gave us some design choices which we loved. She was very easy to work with and responsive to new choices when we requested different options.

Construction - Our house is 50 years old and had a few surprises inside the walls and ceilings. Phil and his team explained different options and the pros/cons of each decision point. He clarified situations and choices in layman's terms which I really appreciated. Josh managed the project and provided a calm influence in the eyes of the storm. MacGyver was rock solid in building anything that was asked. Not everything went flawlessly because of the age and structure of our house but Kingston successfully overcame each adverse situation.

Kingston told us the project would take 5-6 months and that is exactly how long it took. At times, Kingston had 10-15 people working on the project at one time. We often felt like we had an army working for us! The crew consistently worked hard.

Some of the highlights of Kingston’s build: We were very happy with how the HVAC turned out as our architect designed mini-splits and we ended up not needing those. We were thrilled that the existing ceiling duct work was reduced. That was a really great surprise. And the bathrooms look fabulous!

We are hiring Kingston for our next phase (kitchen remodel, bathroom remodel, laundry room remodel, new flooring and lighting) and are eager to work with them again.“
