“How many people can say that they took their contractor and spouse out to lunch to thank them for an awesome job?? Not many, but we did! Mike, Jorge, and his team did an amazing job! They are good, hard-working, trustworthy people, which is very hard to find these days!
We did a lot of work with Floor TX & Remodeling over many months. We started with replacing the floors in our entire house- upstairs and downstairs. That went very well, so we moved on to my office. We installed new cabinetry (including a pull out for my printer and a custom file cabinet), counter tops, quartz window sills, and new fixtures. Then, we moved on to the master bath & closet. The master bath and closet remodel included moving walls, water supply and drain lines, concrete work, and dryer exhaust relocation in addition to enlarging the shower, relocating the toilet, and installing new electrical outlets & lighting.
During this remodel, we had to open the ceiling and discovered that the contractor we used years earlier for an addition upstairs (not Mike) did not properly construct or support the new addition. The weight of a new bedroom and bathroom was only supported by one wall below. Mike immediately called in his structural engineer so that we could properly reinforce our second story and avoid some dire consequences. This was not Mike’s mess to clean up, but he cared about giving us peace of mind and avoiding any future issues.
We interviewed many contractors, but Mike was the only one who asked the right questions and made the right comments. I could tell that he had a lot of experience and truly knew what he was doing. Mike was certainly the right choice. He’s done a ton of work here in the west Houston area. He’s worked on many commercial & residential jobs. He’s worked on smaller jobs and jobs with extensive budgets but treats all his clients the same. We did a lot of work with Mike, but we were small beans compared to many of his other jobs. He never made us feel less important. Not only did he constantly offer us ideas to give us more of what we wanted like installing the bathtub faucet in the wall to give us more floorspace or using a special shower drain that allows us to easily clean out hair for when we wash our dogs in the shower, but he was VERY patient, and he was always in a relaxed and fun mood. You can tell that Mike truly enjoys what he does. He treats his whole team with honor & respect, and you can tell that they are all happy to work for him.
It’s hard to know exactly what you want when you are knocking down walls and moving things around. Mike never pressured us or made us feel bad when we needed more time to decide or when we changed our minds. He just wanted us to be happy with the end result. This went a long way for me!
Mike did little things to help us visualize what the bathroom would look like. He cut out a piece of cardboard the size of our bathtub so that we could see how much room we’d have. He never talked us into things that would make his life easier. He is very client focused and cares about getting the job done right.
Another thing that I really love about Mike is that he’s not into spending your money. He really respects your budget and doesn’t try to sell you on what will be the most profitable for him. He is for his clients.
To be able to fully trust your contractor is a gift. We are beyond grateful for this positive experience and highly recommend Mike and his team for any home flooring or remodeling project. If we decide to move forward on future jobs, we will be using Floor TX & Remodeling.“
