“Came home from a long weekend to a leaking water heater and I have no clue how to fix it. My wife went to social media and was referred to Austin Area Plumbing. I called them up and they were able to come out the following day. I did try calling the plumbers that originally worked on our house but they couldn’t come out for 2 or 3 days later. “Hey y’all ! Do you have a plumbing problem? Are you in Austin ( or surrounding areas)? If so, call L&P Plumbing ! My ONLY plumber (s) from now on. ( No, I’m not a paid advertisement ?) They seriously have saved me on numerous occasions, just recently fixing some lines to my washer & pipe under my sink . You wouldn’t think it’s a big deal, but considering the insurance co. would have dropped me THE NEXT DAY if it hadn’t been fixed, it was huge! They came out right away & charged an incredibly fair price. ❤️ Backtrack to about a year ago , I called a highly recommended plumber bc my bathtub was stopped up. After a $200 dx fee, I was told there must be a broken pipe under the slab , they couldn’t get through. Thousands $$$ to fix! So, I got a second opinion .. L & P ( Victor) somehow found a little plastic lid that had gotten stuck in the pipe. Voila! Bathtub unstopped & a major bullet dodged- whew ? “I'd called The Plumbinator a few years ago when there was a mysterious puddle of water in our master bedroom closet. They quickly found the leak inside the wall, fixed it, and all was well--for a very reasonable price!

Fast-forward to last week. We had water dripping into our pantry, directly below our master bathroom. I called The Plumbinator without a second thought. The guys came by, took one look, and said it was mostly likely the wax ring beneath the toilet. Since that's something I'm comfortable replacing, I declined their estimate.

But they didn't just leave. They gave me a few pointers (don't buy those silicone rings, go extra-wax if possible) and said if it still leaked after that, they'd come back ASAP to take a deeper dive into what could be a larger problem. But their own first step would be replacing the wax ring. And then, since I’d been a prior customer and this just took a few minutes en route to another stop nearby, they didn’t charge a service fee for this visit! I really appreciated that.

Turns out it was the wax ring. They were right. I got the repair done myself for under $20.

I just appreciate the honesty--not tryin’ to just make a buck, pushing their doing the wax ring replacement or cutting into the floor/ceiling unnecessarily, or charging a service fee for just a few minutes' conversation.

The Plumbinators' fun name is why I called them years ago. Their service on that first project made me a customer. And their lack of pushing unnecessary work on me this time has just reinforced that I'll be calling them again whenever I have another plumbing problem.
