Their funeral home has now cared for two of my family members and done so beautifully and respectfully.“

Funeral Services And Cemeteries
“My dad passed away in early January, and from the day Sam Houston Funeral Home picked him up from his senior living center, the staff at Sam Houston Funeral Home were incredible. I worked with Jason first, and he made sure I fully understood everything I was getting for the cost of the funeral. We talked about everything from flowers (he even called the florist and she came to ME at the funeral home to talk about what I wanted), to the program, memorial slide show, urns, EVERYTHING. He also helped me obtain my dad's veteran's honor burial rights, which meant a lot to all of us.
Cari managed all the details before the service. For the weeks leading up to it, she helped me coordinate the photos, the music, the death certificate, which is a tedious but necessary item, and all the millions of details required for a service.
On the day of the service, Judith was incredibly helpful and made sure I knew where to be, what to do, and in what order to do it. She worked with the honor guard when they arrived and coordinated the entire service so well. EXCELLENT!
I was especially grateful for Kay. She worked with me, reassuring me anytime I needed something. My caterer was late and Kay kept a look out, making sure to let me discreetly know whey they had arrived. She was gracious with my family members, helped me move flowers around, moved all of the pictures and the flowers from the chapel to the community room after the service, and then helped get all of my caterer's belongings together after the service. I felt like she was my own family by the time we left.
Overall, I would give Sam Houston Funeral Home 10 stars if I could. And not to talk about money, but the cost of the funeral through them was significantly less than what I paid just 5 months earlier for my mom's funeral in The Woodlands.
And in case you're interested in the nuts and bolts, my dad was cremated, for his cremation, the flowers, urns, service, honor guard, guest book, enlarged 16x20 photo for the easel, 50 bulletins, thank you cards, 10 death certificates, a memorial slideshow, and music before, during, and after the service was less than $5K. I know the cost varies based on what you select for your loved one, but that's what I paid. I had a reception catered by Tara Arceneaux that was not included in the cost.“
