This was the best experience I have encountered purchasing glasses. Ben, the manager, was expertly knowledgeable. He gave me honest feedback and educated me. I also met the owner, Evan, who was welcoming and set the tone for an enjoyable environment to purchase eyewear!

I have been going to Spectacles and Dr Mapes since my old doctor retired. I was recommended by some close friends who go there and I have been incredibly happy. Evan has fixed my vision problems (and gotten rid of my wife's optical migraines) and been very helpful with other issues- allergies drying out my eyes for example. His rate for an exam is right in line with most places and I think he goes the extra mile for his patients (whom he treats more like family). The glasses won't be the cheapest you will find but their selection of frames is fantastic and you won't find a low quality brand or pair in the place.
