On the one hand, I am not happy about EssilorLuxottica having bought virtually all of its rivals and optical retailer chains, becoming the de facto monopoly it its market, and now charging exorbitant prices for its Varilux lenses. But the fault for that lies with our incompetent, captured government anti-trust regulators, not with a corporation, which exists to maximize shareholder value. Anyways, I recently emailed EssilorLuxottica with an issue, and was impressed with how a Consumer Care Supervisor named Suzanne Allen resolved it with impeccable integrity, empathy, professionalism and excellence. The 5 star rating is for her, who should be promoted. The higher up she...read full review

I don't know about the company itself, but I had the pleasure of doing business with the Sr. Director of National accounts John E. McMahan and his wife Cheryl. I have to tell you I have never met two more genuine, good hearted people. They were a true joy to work with even when we ran across issues. With knowing people like John are in charge of this company I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them. Thanks again John, ya'll were a great to work with !!!Kimmy Lynch

Arlene at Essilor really went above and beyond with her service. I haven't been able to see correctly for a month now because I've had two Optometrists and Opticians put me in polycarbonate lenses and we've determined I'm a "poly non-adapt" because I continue to get headaches with computer use and reading. Polycarbonate lenses have an ABBE (which is the measure of chromatic aberration, a type of distortion) of 30. My Optician was trying to tell me Essilor's 1.60 Thin & Lite lense had an ABBE of 36, whereas all the research I found on line said it was 41. That's a big difference when you're having focusing problems. So Arlene discovered that the Essilor Lab that my Optician was getting her info from HAD THE WRONG INFO, they were giving her info from 5 years ago. Since 2006, Essilor upgraded their 1.60 Thin and Lite lenses and are now using MR-8 plastic, which has an ABBE of 41. Arlene just really went above and beyond, returning calls to me, placing calls to my Optician and their Essilor Lab to get all this figured out. Thanks so much Arlene! Essilor is top notch in my book and I will make sure to ask my Opticians in the future for Essilor lenses!
