“Been coming to this dry cleaners many years. Service is professional and dry cleaning done satisfactory. Seem to be under new ownership, and now don’t have a seamstress on staff, which is very inconvenient as now not able to get my Jeans hemmed-up on site. So needed to take it kitty-corner across the street to the tailor shop last couple of years. Now the tailor shop is closed, as the owners have retired. Been telling the counter lady, they need to hire an alternation person like previous owner had. Current owner, stop being cheap!!”

“I'm honestly not sure how to write this review, because how exactly do you review someone who's been altering your clothes for nearly your entire life? I'm also not sure how I've never written one before, other than the fact that I was literally a child for a good chunk of the time I've been coming here. 😂
My family has been bringing things to him for somewhere around 30 years? Maybe longer? He altered my dance costumes when I was a little girl, year after year, until I stopped dancing 12 years later. Then it was my concert blacks throughout my junior high and high school band years. Then my high school letterman jacket — every patch, every addition, every time I decided something needed rearranged...
And then I grew up.
He altered the outfit I wore for my wedding reception and honeymoon...
These days, apparently I bring him cosplay costumes 😂 Most recently, I showed up with a jacket, a completely wrong faux-fur hood trim, and some replacement fur I'd picked out, and asked him to make it right.
And, of course, he did. Like he's always done
And somewhere in the middle of all of this, it hit me how ridiculous and wonderful the timeline is. The same man who altered my dance costumes when I was a little girl is now helping me with cosplay costumes as an adult...
And somehow another layer of...irony(?) is getting added to all of this 😂 apparently we're coming full circle, because I'll be back very soon with yet another patch jacket. This one is for the adult nerd I grew up to be, with all the convention and fandom patches I've acquired over the years
There are businesses you use because they're convenient, and there are people you return to because, after enough years, the thought of taking something important anywhere else doesn't even occur to you. That's what this place has become for me and my family.
Thirty-plus years, countless alterations, and several completely different versions of me later, I'm still coming back.
