About Family Services of Southeast Texas
Family Services of Southeast Texas is a place that offers support and resources to those in need. Several clients have praised the caring staff and the helpful services provided. Outpatient clients appreciate the free therapy, legal services, and other resources that help them improve their lives. The organization also assists with personal belongings, as one client mentioned dropping off clothes for a late loved one, highlighting the staff’s friendly and informative nature. Group counseling sessions are valued for their positive impact, with many finding them beneficial. However, experiences with the shelter component vary. Some clients feel the shelter provides a safe environment with spacious accommodations, though others report issues like overcrowding, poor living conditions, and conflicts among residents. Concerns about safety are raised due to fights, disrespect, and verbal abuse, with some feeling staff do not always take complaints seriously. There are also frustrations over limited assistance with transportation and job searching, as resources can be outdated or not tailored to individual needs. Despite these challenges, many clients find hope and motivation from the dedicated staff, especially those who show kindness and genuine care. Overall, Family Services of Southeast Texas is seen as a place that can help some individuals get their lives together, though it may not provide the restful environment or comprehensive support some seek. The organization’s efforts are appreciated, but experiences depend on individual circumstances.
Went to Family Services of Southeast Texas to drop off some clothes from my late wife who insisted that after she passed away to bring them there..Shauna Sutton was very helpful and friendly and informative.
