I don’t think I’ve ever had a haircut where I actually felt it was a bespoke experience, or where the cut was so clearly suited to me. Chris’s expertise was apparent right away, and he made me feel genuinely confident in both the cut and the overall look.
Everything felt intentional: the conversation, the attention to detail, and the way he tailored the cut to my hair, face, and style instead of just giving me a standard version of what I asked for. By Hand was excellent, and Chris was amazing. Easily one of the best barber experiences I’ve had, and I’ll definitely be back.
Chris has been cutting my hair for over three years now. I actually run beauty schools, so I have a pretty good idea of someone's technical ability...and his ability is pretty much unparalleled. If you get to know his story, you'll know why. An amazing talent, and we are lucky to have him in Austin. As long as he is behind the chair (and as long as enough hair remains on my head) I will be a client of his!
