I’m a 20 year Veteran of the United States Army. Been retired now twenty years. I have a rating of 100% disability through the VA. My medical history of pain consist of a list of surgeries in the past (5 on my Lower Back)(6 on my Right Shoulder)(4 on my Left Shoulder)(3 on my Left Elbow)(2 on my Right Elbow)(2 on my Left Knee)(4 on my Left Ankle) and (2 on my Left Foot). I was referred to Dr. Vivek Mehta by my primary care doctor because of weird chronic pain in my feet and legs. Dr. Mehta knew right away what was the cause of my pain, peripheral neuropathy, due to alcoholism. Even though I was well aware that I was drinking too much, Dr. Mehta was the first doctor to look me in the eye and tell me that he could not treat me unless I quit drinking. This was the ah-hah moment that led me to alcohol rehab and recovery. I am now over 60 days sober and in deep gratitude to Dr. Mehta for his candor and honesty. I personally consider this life saving treatment, because alcohol was slowly killing me.

I was in so much pain because of a herniated disk. My regular PCP sent me to Dr Mehta to see what could be done to relieve the pain I was experiencing. My fist appointment with Dr Mehta was a routine here is whats going on and here is what we can try to do to help eliminate the pain. Felt very comfortable with what Dr Mehta recommended. We were looking at a spinal epidural injection into the herniated disk. Well to make a long story short I had my 2nd injection last Thursday on the 11th. Oh my josh the relief I have now. I have gone from taking 600mg of Gabapentin 3 times a day to 1 400mg once a day. Thank you Dr Metha.
