So I brought my 15 yo Neice and her bestie to 6 Flags for Spring Break from NW Louisiana. At the end of the day, I had a sudden onset of pain and excessive watering of my right eye. I became sensitive to light causing me to wear my sunglasses even inside a building. I started searching for an emergency eye clinic around 9 pm and after leaving several messages at other providers, I lucked up and found Dr. Shunck. He actually answered my call and was very understanding of my situation and concerned for my eye sight. He gave me recommendations for the night and agreed to meet me at his clinic the next morning, a Sunday Morning. The next morning, my pain, blurry vision and watering were 90% better. I started to call and cancel but knew we still had more places to play and a 4 hour drive home. So I met Dr. Schunk at his office at 8 am on a Sunday morning. He was just as attentive in person as he was on the phone. He was very knowledgeable and thorough with the exam. He kept acknowledging that I was on vacation and wanted me to be able to have a good time without any eye problems. He gave me samples of eye drops to use and filed my insurance for the visit. I was prepared to have to pay cash with an up charge for the emergency weekend visit. If I lived in this area, I would definitely make Dr. Schunk my regular Optometrist but since I don't, I will definitely recommend him to my family that lives in Arlington and anyone else reading this review. It's difficult to find care givers that really care. Insurance rules have turned what used to be a "calling" into a business, but Dr. Schunk has remained true to his Oath. I hope you give him your eyes for safe keeping.
