About Downtown YMCA
The Downtown YMCA has received mixed reviews. Some customers have expressed disappointment with recent renovations, stating that the women's area is now much smaller. I’ve been a longtime supporter, member and donor of the Y, but I’m starting to lose enthusiasm for the expanded downtown location.
Tonight was the tipping point. The pool was already crowded, with swimmers doubling up in lanes, yet two lanes were blocked off for programming starting at 5:30 p.m. The first hour was a baby swim class and the second hour was swim lessons. I’m all for both programs, but scheduling them during peak evening hours in an already overcrowded pool seems poorly planned—especially when the renovated facility ended up with a smaller pool than the previous location.

What can I say? This gym is everything I could ask for — welcoming, motivating, and honestly one of my favorite places to be. It’s become somewhere I can always count on to clear my mind and feel my best.
Amazing selection of hammer strength, arsenal, precor, and lifefitness machines. All areas including the locker rooms are clean and the coffee is nice! A little milk wouldn’t hurt though ;)
