“I have had a Southland Log Home since 2010. All the reviewers seemed happy at that time, except for some issues with doors and windows. So I asked if they could back those out of my contract for credit, which they did. I got Pella to bring my doors and windows. I asked for some minor changes to the floor plan, and they had an architect make changes. The contractor did a great job on the build. It was little delayed: the wood was delivered April 1, 2010, and we were told it would take until August. We moved into it by Thanksgiving. I had a problem with some of the wood delivered for the vaulted ceiling - it had black and gray stains on it, looked like from some metal bands that might have bound them together. I complained to the company, and after I sent them some photos, they sent me new clean wood to replace the bad ones, and the contractor changed them out. The home has been easy to maintain; I just restain the outside every 4 years. It looks great and I'm glad I bought it. I would definitely do business with Southland again.“
