Several years ago, an incompetent contractor installed a sunroom addition to our house. The addition required a large roof cricket that was improperly installed and subsequently was patched several times by the unskilled contractor. Eventually, the cricket began to leak through the soffit, potentially damaging our brick exterior, and with each rainstorm the leak worsened. Someone from Smith Roofing came to my wife’s and my house and made a thorough inspection of the roof and unfinished attic. He found some water damage and other problems. No surprise since the house is 40+ years old. He helped us make a suitable list of repairs and proposed a very reasonable quote. Brad Tindell was the project manager. He was astounding in the breadth and width of his knowledge and experience. He made several trips to inspect progress. He noticed that a worn-out vertical roof vent was in an inappropriate place and was causing water leaks.
