“Please see before and after photos and hand binding work. My great-grandmother's Peking rug needed some major TLC after being stored with pet stains in it in for years. This rug being over 100 years old, it has had lots of work and repair work done on it over the years. I've never had anyone pay such close attention and care to it as Taghavi's.
When I brought it in, he gave me the history of the rug and told me about the material and how it needs to be cared for. (Who knew wool rugs needed conditioning?) He pointed out some of the spots on the rug that had been worked on before, and suggested some repair work to support those areas on the back of the rug. He also suggested that we rebind the edges of the rug, they were uneven and worn before and look *beautiful* now.
These guys are true passionate professionals, have been here in Memphis since 1977, and the family business is generations in. Now, if you are a polyester rug owner, and you just like to replace your rugs every here and there, this is not your guy. This is who you want to care for your natural rugs, your art rugs, your heirlooms.
These things take time and cost money, but it is well worth it to preserve and protect your cherished pieces! Love your rug and it will love you back!
