The instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and create a positive environment for students of all ages. They are dedicated to teaching high-quality skills and discipline, and truly care about their students. With experienced instructors and a welcoming atmosphere, Cleveland Defense Academy is a great place for anyone looking to start or continue their martial arts journey, whether it's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or other disciplines.
I’ve been going to The Academy for almost 3 months. I’m 52 yrs old, in decent but not great shape, and had no formal Jiu-Jitsu training before I started here. Don’t let any of that stop you from training here! This is a great place! Michael and Jen are great coaches with experience and knowledge. They and are very good teachers always giving one on one instruction as needed. They teach at a pace and progression that makes sense for experienced and less experienced students. Great school Sensei Mike is an excellent instructor it was a pleasure meeting Jennifer and training with them. They exemplify service and excellence and would highly recommend their school. They were patient and helped me on any issues I had.
I have trained in a lot of academies across the United States and with several coaches. Michael Chastain is an amazing instructor who definitely knows his material. I would recommend his services and academy for anyone that may be looking to start their BJJ journey or find a new home. Five stars, hands down!
