“I had dealt with knee pain for a while. I saw an area doc who specializes in knees. highly recommended. my x ray showed some possible need for a knee replacement but nothing urgent. He never mentioned checking out the hip. The pain reached a point that I wanted to do something asap. Then I saw an ad for the Fraum Health Center. the x rays done there with Dr. Heather were not so bad, in fact, it was my hip that was an issue not my knee. what to do? my doc suggested an MRI to get a definitive answer. The knee wasn't bad so we did the hip. The hip was shot and had torn muscles around the hip capsule due to a pretty traumatic fall a few years ago (that I had forgotten about) and though the pain was at the knee, it was the hip that was causing the problem. Hip replacement scheduled in 2 weeks. bottom line here? I could have had a new knee that wouldn't have made any difference at all! I am so grateful I spent the time to explore the options with Fraum even though ultimately I did not use them. BTW, great staff in all aspects of the Center as well.“
