“Charles is a proper barber surgeon!

I was visiting from out of town and stranded while waiting for a car repair. Although Charles kindly let me know they work off appointments, he let me inside to cool off on this particularly hot day. He was then able to get me in the chair, squeezing me in between appointments.

Based on his reviews, I knew I was in for a great cut. He exceeded my expectations and more importantly, my girlfriends.

What I didn’t anticipate was a rich conversation full of wisdom, proverbs from Charles’ late mother, and much needed advice (which at the time was unknown just how much it was needed).

Truly looking forward to sitting in Charles’ chair next time I’m in town, or maybe his law office! The possibilities are limitless with him.“

“I just had the most incredible experience at Lava’s Park Circle location. I got a curly cut with Mallory, and I honestly cannot express how exceptional she is. I’ve been struggling to find a stylist whom I trust and who knows (and honors!) curly hair. Mallory. Is. It. She started cutting my hair dry so she could really see my curls in action. She listened to every word I said about what I wanted, and then did exactly what I wanted (and not what she wanted!) She was also kind and funny and totally knew her stuff. After washing my hair, she walked me through how she was tending to my curls—products she was using, techniques to get my curls clumping properly—even showing me in the mirror what she was doing. She put me under the dryer (my first time ever! How fun!) and then diffused my curls. Most places assume I want my hair blown out straight and don’t even ask me before straightening my curls into submission, but Mallory didn’t. She honored my natural hair and I love her for it.

Also, the cut was on point. So cute and so sassy! And she styled it in a way that felt like me—easy and natural.

Honestly, this was next level care. I felt heard and super tended to and my hair came out amazing. I also learned a thing or two and had some laughs—it just doesn’t get any better than that. It was an experience, not a haircut! Thank you, Mallory. You’re a gem!

Finally, Lava is a serious vibe. It’s a colorful, vibrant, lively, and super inclusive salon. It has a delightful buzz. I honestly had such a fantastic experience — someone even brought me candy as I was sitting under the dryer!—and am over-the-moon with my cut. From now on, I’ll go nowhere else. Full stop.“

The place I had scheduled to get my hair done the day of my rehearsal dinner/welcome party ended up not being able to get me in at the last minute(a story for another time). This salon sprung into action and truly saved the day. They did a wash and the most beautiful updo for me within an hour. They had two girls blow drying at one point. All hands on deck. They let me bring my makeup and do it while they were doing my hair. They let me get dressed there and allowed all my bridesmaids to come in and help me with finishing touches. They hyped me up and were nothing but kind and accommodating. Not to mention my hair could not have looked better. Bobbi crushed it. Everything happens for a reason- I was meant to go here!“
