Loved the course. Water on practically ever hole. Wonderful course with tee box options for all skill players. Greens were ok and fairways were beautiful and in great shape. Very picturesque in spots. The staff was exceptional, welcoming and helpful. The bad is it was cart part only and the cart paths would beat you silly. They really need work. Sand traps were river sand and after the rain were like hitting off the cart path. Overall it was enjoyable and worth the money.
About Eagle's Pointe Golf Club
Eagle's Pointe Golf Club is a public-access golf course located on Highway 278, seven miles west of Hilton Head Island. Designed by Davis Love III, the course offers a classic risk-reward design, natural beauty, and strategy. Visitors have reported a generally positive experience, with friendly staff, manageable holes, and decent fairways and greens. The course is praised for its beautiful layout and affordable price, making it a good choice for those seeking a low-cost golf experience. Guests appreciate that the clubs rented are nice, and the golf cart includes a cooler with ice to keep drinks cold.
The course is in decent shape, with fairways and tee boxes generally in good condition. However, some areas, such as cart paths, tee boxes, and sand traps, may require maintenance. The greens on the back nine have been known to have weeds, and some tee boxes have very little grass, while bunkers need work. Despite these issues, the course provides good value, especially for beginners who are okay with sub-par conditions. With its welcoming atmosphere and reasonable prices, Eagle's Pointe remains a popular destination for golfers in the area.
Reviews
I played this course 2 years ago and it was in terrible shape. While it wasn't in tip-top shape today, it was in 1000x better condition than it was 2 years ago! It will only get better as the ground crew works their magic!
It's a great layout with challenging greens and beautiful Lowcountry charm. I will add them back into my regular rotation!
Played this course on 4/21/2026 in the afternoon. The course layout suits the intermediate golfer. Wide fairways and approachable green surfaces. We played the front nine only. We found the course very dry, fairways burnt and hard pan and luke many others the greens were very difficult to putt becuase of the poor condition. I'm sure when Davis Love III designed this course he didn't intend it to present in the current condition. I gave it three stars mainly becuase of the friendly staff, nice carts. The course condition itself is a 1.5.
