Not only are they learning solid self-defense and Taekwondo skills, but Master Terry and his team go far beyond that. They teach discipline, respect, focus, and the right way to conduct themselves in everyday life. I’ve seen a clear positive change in my child’s confidence and overall personality since joining.
Highly recommend Sky Taekwondo to any parent looking for a well-rounded martial arts program with truly dedicated instructors!“

2616 W Girard Ave, Philadelphia“I first heard of Action Karate roughly around the end of August two years ago in 2023. Action Karate was introduced to me by my neighborly cousins. With a little thinking I said “sure I’ll do it, why not?” Without knowing that answer would change me both physically and mentally. I first walked into Action Karate for my first class at the back of the mat, stayed quiet and did what I was told. After I slowly climbed to orange belt I was promoted to black belt leadership and got my first red gee. I was really proud of my achievement.
Before I was just a lower belt, nothing special, but now I had no idea how much would be expected of me moving forward and upward. Stripe after Stripe I learned more than I thought I would. Not only did I learn self-defence but also how to focus, persevere, balance(physically and mentally), respect ,and many more.
As I climbed, the belts training got intense and for the first time I didn’t receive a stripe, I had never imagined that would happen. I barely passed my test in the end, but when promotion came around and didn’t get my new belt, I realised how serious and committed I should be. So now as a red belt nearing my test for black belt, I realised how much I’ve succeeded and how much I need to work on at the same time. So I have been working extremely hard along with my fellow classmates for the past few weeks to achieve my junior black belt.“

11 W Mt Airy Ave, Philadelphia“We enrolled our daughter at Action Karate Mt. Airy to help her have more confidence, learn self-discipline, and perseverance. It has been a little over a year now since she started and I cannot express how great of a decision we made picking this school. She has grown leaps and bounds physically, mentally and morally training with Sensei Dom and the other instructors. The staff has always been friendly and informative; showing they care and love what they do; efficiently working as a team to ensure everyone gets personal attention while achieving their goals. Honestly, if they had 10 stars, I would still want to put 11. Try this karate school and watch your child flourish!!!“

1404 Peg St, Dresher“We absolutely love this martial arts school! My kids didn’t enjoy another place we tried before, but here they’re excited for every single class, even after a few months.
The mix of training and character building is amazing. Master Zohar connects with the kids and talks about discipline, resilience, and making good choices, which really carries over into home and school. The classes are very engaging—kids are encouraged to answer questions, participate, and demonstrate different moves, which keeps them involved and builds confidence.
They also have a great reward system that keeps kids motivated to work on positive habits at home and school, and they get recognized and rewarded during class, which my kids really enjoy.
One of my kids is on the spectrum, and we were initially a bit worried, but the instructors have been incredibly patient, supportive, and understanding. It’s made such a difference.
Another big plus is the flexibility and convenience. The schedule is very accommodating, and their app makes it super easy to sign up for classes and check in, making the whole process really seamless for busy families.
We’re so happy we found this place and highly recommend it!“

1314 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia“While in town for a wedding a friend told me I had to check out Ricardo’s gym. From the start you could tell it was an exceptional room full of absolute studs. Atmosphere was great, instruction was excellent and it was hands down my favorite gym I’ve visited in travel. I’d recommend this gym to anyone and I will be returning. 10/10 .“

109 Allison Rd, Oreland“My mom first got me into Action Karate when I was 11, she knew I loved karate.
On my first day I didn’t want to talk to anyone, I was scared, but after seeing how nice the people were, I eventually warmed up. In all the time I've been at Action Karate, the people there are kind to me, I made friends along the way and still meeting new people. Action Karate helped me prepare for tournament which built up my confidence. Without them I wouldn’t have been able to perform well or even show up. Now I'm a red belt and I have so many people encouraging and helping me prepare for Black belt test. Action Karate really made me a more confident person.“

I can’t say enough great things about this karate institution! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth, professionalism, and a clear passion for martial arts. Master Kremin is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and motivating – he strikes the perfect balance between discipline and encouragement. If you’re looking for a place to learn authentic karate in a supportive and professional setting, this is it. Five stars all the way!“

1025 Hamilton St, Philadelphia“High recommend Broad Street Kickboxing. I was visiting for work and they welcomed me with open arms and imparted lot of knowledge the short time I was there. I travel across the country and Broad Street is a premier martial arts gym. The community is great and the instructors are top notch. Part of what sets Broad Street apart from other gyms is that many of the people you learn from are actively fighters themselves. Not only that but they care about making sure you get an engaging and instructive class while still making you feel like family. I can’t wait to go back. And good luck to everyone with fights coming up!“

6 N Park Ave, Norristown“Training with Grand Master Giamo is a life-changing experience.
Exactly ten years ago, I transferred to Eagleville Taekwondo Academy as a thirteen-year-old 3rd Poom. Despite my genetic hypermobility, I lacked the musculature and training to kick above my waist. Master Giamo recognized my untapped potential and took me under his wing.
I am now a 5th Dan. I assist in instructing classes at Eagleville Taekwondo while continuing my mentorship under Master Giamo. His deep knowledge of Taekwondo and exceptional attention to detail have shaped me into not only a better practitioner and athlete but also a better teacher and judge. I will continue practicing Taekwondo for as long as I am physically able.“

I visited a lot of other schools in the area, and have trained for a couple years before taking a break due to pregnancy. I really like this school, because everyone is very down to earth, the instructors John and Sherry are great and make you feel comfortable regardless of your fitness/skill level. Coach John also explains the technical aspects of the sport really well in a way that makes sense. Its clear they truly love the sport! I highly recommend them!“

1980 Butler Pike, Conshohocken“We transferred to Action Karate Plymouth Meeting when we moved from out of state. They are a family run dojo and did an amazing job of acclimating our student and allowed him to utilize the belt level he was currently at to start.
We love that all of their katas are taught in practical terms of self defense. They also discuss value lessons weekly, where they go over characteristics of leadership, gratitude, goal setting, (we especially love that students are required to set goals so they can see progress). After a year here, our son is also now learning how to become a sensi (teach).
They also host some really fun parties: like water wars to celebrate the end of summer, glow in the dark board breaking, etc. They also have get-togethers for the adults. And they have summer camps and parents’ night outs. So everyone really gets a chance to get to know each other.
I cannot thank them enough for how they are helping our son to grow as a person and how welcome we always feel. They feel like part of our family.“
“IF FIRST IMPRESSION IS IMPORTANT THEN I WILL TELL YOU, SENSEI AND HIS STAFF ARE PROFESSIONAL, ENGAGING AND SERIOUS ABOUT THEIR ART. MY GRANDSON WILL BE A STUDENT TO THEIRS AND HE IS VERY EXCITED TO GET STARTED AND LEARN THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. NO TV STUFF.“

Having come from another Taekwondo studio in another state, we have been very pleased with the no-nonsense approach here. This is a great place to learn and develop...while having fun. I highly recommend Master Taekwondo.“
