I called to get a ballpark quote to remove an old gas pipe that was capped and sticking about 8 inches up from the floor. That thing was an eyesore and tripping hazard. I hated looking at it. It used to service a gas stove. Professional Plumbing gave me a quote of $250 to $300 over the phone. Another plumber came to my place and wanted $460 to do the job. The plumber from Professional Plumbing called in the morning to say he would be to my place on the South Side in the afternoon. He called again from the South Hills to say he would arrive in about 20 minutes. He came on time and efficiently got the job done which involved cutting the floor boards. Cost of the job was $267. I was happy with the job.
