“OTR if delivering here with a semi truck, slide your tandems all the way forward when entering and leaving. The dock itself is no problem, but you have to go around the building and it's tightish, especially when leaving. Make sure you swing wide and have those tandems all the way forwards for you might not make the corner.

The people working were very polite and unloading was quick. Taking one star off because of that turn to leave.“

“After an exhaustive interview and vetting process, we hired Mulroy bay for a whole home renovation and two story addition on our home in Lower Merion, PA.

What stood out to us most was Brian’s attention to the process, from the earliest and most important stages - building a foundation and assembling a structurally-sound frame upon and around which to build the rest of the home - to the fine details of the finish carpentry. With the home being built in the 1940s, the ability of Brian and his crew to understand the original construction and adding onto it was absolutely critical, especially since there were multiple aspects of the build that involved removing and subsequently supporting load bearing walls - an incredibly anxiety inducing proposition, which went off without a hitch. The crew executed flawlessly on the vision that our architect drew up in the building plans, and in some cases they were able to improve upon some things that seemed like good ideas in the design process, but less so as the home took shape.

We broke ground at the beginning of July and were able to use the new parts of the house for the Christmas holiday of the same year. Finish work continued into February. While I will admit that we ended up being incredibly lucky with weather during the pouring of the foundation, framing and making the new structure “air tight”, the completion took less time than we’d expected because Brian’s crew was on site working in a professional, efficient manner every day that weather allowed, and left the site clean and orderly at the end of every day. This is something I didn’t fully appreciate until I saw how some other projects were handled by other builders on homes of friends and neighbors.

As with any project of this size, there were occasions in which change orders were necessary. What those changes were and why they were necessary was always explained clearly and when there were different tiers of options, those were always presented in a way that didn’t make us feel like we were being pressured into something that wasn’t needed.

We interviewed 10 builders and requested quotes from 5 of them. On more than 1 occasion, they sent a round number estimate, with no data as to how they got to that number. Brian’s initial quote for the project was incredibly detailed, something I would urge everyone undertaking a large scale renovation or addition project to not just request but insist upon. Except in the cases of change orders, the project was done on budget - no surprises, no “oh we thought this material would cost X but it cost Y, so your invoice is more than expected.”.

I could go on, but in short, choosing Brian “and the lads” to turn a house we bought into our “forever home” was one of the best decisions our family has ever made. Highly recommend - 5 stars!“
