Altoona Family Physicians

I had a hard time finding a primary care doctor who was accepting new patients, especially since I wanted to stay within UPMC for my records. At 19, I was also struggling with my mental health and knew I needed to make a change from my pediatrician.

After some searching, I finally found Altoona Family Physicians, and I’m so grateful I did. I now see Dr. Malika Kile, and she has been amazing. She’s a wonderful, younger physician who has truly helped me with my depression and anxiety. From the very first visit, she made me feel comfortable, heard, and understood.

I’ve been here for two years now because I wanted a family doctor that wasn’t strictly a pediatrician. And so far I’ve loved them, the office ladies are kind and friendly, the residents are kind and friendly, doing everything in their power to do. HOWEVER Dr Phillips (overseeing physician) is the WIZARD OF OZ!!!! Does he exist??!! Where is he? Does he have a signature?? The receptionist with black hair is rude, inconsiderate, and blatantly lies. Needed a paper filled out for my insurance, and her exact response was an exasperated "do we have to do this every month?" Needed another form filled out, and she told my wife she hadn't been seen in over a year and a half so she couldn't have it filled out for that reason. Bold faced lie, my wife was seen there in April. Also, don't bother trying to call in. You'll be put on hold forever waiting.

I'll give them two stars because the doctors there are mostly good.
