“I was lucky enough to have Shawna do my hair, makeup, and lashes for my wedding in 2019. She also did the makeup for my bridesmaids. I can’t say enough positive things about her! Not only is Shawna professional, clean, and efficient, all the things you want in a makeup artist - she is also so creative, talented and personable.Shawna made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day! I normally wear minimal makeup in my daily life, so for my wedding I was concerned about looking way overdone. Shawna absolutely nailed what I asked for. She made me feel like a more elegant, polished version of myself. She knew right away how to accentuate my features but still have a natural look. The touch up kit made it easy for me to fix my lip color in between photos.For my hair, Shawna did an amazing updo that I never would have been able to do myself! I gave her some creative freedom with the hairstyle and was so happy with the result. An updo is not easy with my hair because it’s very thick and heavy, but somehow it stayed in place all night through lots of hugs and dancing.The lash extensions were done a couple days prior to the wedding. She had a few different options ranging from natural-looking to more dramatic. I loved that I didn’t worry about sweating or crying off mascara or strip lashes during my wedding, and they looked beautiful! I was a lash newbie but Shawna gave me easy instructions on how to care for them. The process does take a couple hours if you’re getting a full set, but it’s absolutely worth it.I definitely recommend scheduling a trial if you can, to give you the opportunity to try different options ahead of time, show her inspiration photos, etc. It made me feel much better going into my wedding day knowing we already had an idea of the look I wanted. “At this point I've been going to Lindsey at Ginger & Maude for about a year and I've had a great experience with her every time! She is skilled, observant, and fun to be around. I definitely recommend her.This Ginger & Maude location has a chill, relaxed vibe. They offer coffee, water, or tea when you sit down. They don't have the capacity for a high volume of clients, so no one is cramped and you can have a comfortable conversation with your stylist while they work with your hair. As for clientele, I have seen men and women of all ages come through the door, which is locked--the stylists let you in after you knock for your appointment. Even though I don't think Multnomah Village is particularly sketchy, it's nice that it feels secure.The one thing about G&M is that it can definitely be pricey, but their prices are on their website, so you know what you're signing up for before you go in.“

“I was able to set up an appointment the same day for a haircut. There was plenty of parking on Sunday afternoon in the little parking lot. There were stair and ramp options to get up to the salon. The atmosphere was so comfy and the staff was incredibly nice. I was lucky enough to get a haircut from Rachael who had awesome vision and a lot of knowledge about curly hair. The shampoo and conditioner smelled amazing. So many all natural products for hair.“
