While my daughter was with her stylist, I was receiving much appreciated service from Amie, who listened intently to my preferences and carefully reviewed the photos I showed. She cut and styled my hair exactly the way I wanted. And her sparkling personality gave me the “hairapy” I didn’t know I needed.

But truly, if you’re not getting your hair done by Brenda or her son at Brenda’s Knotty Dreads, what are you even doing with your life? They are unbelievably talented at what they do, and beyond that, they are some of the kindest, most down-to-earth people you could meet. From the moment I sat down, they made me feel completely comfortable and welcomed like family.

You can tell they genuinely care about their clients, their craft, and making sure you leave feeling amazing. The atmosphere, the conversation, the quality of work… all of it is top tier. Absolutely worth the wait!“

“I recently had a haircut and what feels like a hair therapy session with Stephy.

This was hands down one of the most thorough and informative haircuts I’ve ever gotten. I have thin hair that sheds and Stephy spent the first part of my appointment brushing my hair and observing my breakage and asked me such amazing questions. This led to me purchasing a satin pillowcase, only drying my hair with a microfiber hair wrap. I also received excellent guidance on how to combat oily hair and my light curls are the healthiest they have ever been since I switched my hair washing routine with Stephy’s guidance and expertise.

She also gave me a dry haircut which was the first time I’ve ever had this done. It resulted in my hair being the exact length I wanted to keep as I’ve had my hair butchered twice here in Portland. The minimal layers she added have made my hair feel so much lighter.
