“I’ve been going to Peak Vision Clinic (fka Carkner’s Family Vision Care) for about 13 years and have seen several doctors in the practice over that time. Scheduling appointments has always been easy, and the staff is consistently friendly and welcoming.

They also helped me through my LASIK journey about 10 years ago - helping me find the right surgeon, taking care of the pre-op exam, and providing the follow-up care afterward. I really appreciated having a practice I already trusted guide me through the process.

For my most recent visit, I saw Dr. Keely Hoban. She is very friendly and thorough, and she takes the time to explain what she is doing and answer any questions.

This time, instead of having my eyes dilated with drops, I opted for the Optomap retinal imaging. The imaging itself is painless and takes less than two minutes. I especially liked being able to look at the images together with the doctor and discuss what she was seeing.

“After having my prescription read wrong and my hEDS overlooked on the same pair of glasses twice at another location— this location stepped in and helped out. They had an experienced optometrist who understood the difference in my eye function due to hEDS. Explained it to me, and adjusted the way he read and confirmed my prescription for me. This is the only time in over 10 years of glasses wearing I’ve had issues like this. But it’s also the only time an optometrist has known anything about my condition. I will be mentioning the location and optometrist on the r/hEDS thread. Being listened to and having a disability that’s not visible accommodated can be difficult, this location made it easy.”

“I just read some of the reviews of Carkers and am happy to recommend them without reservation. I came to Carkner's to get fitted for contacts years ago. Whereas other places weren't able to fit me successfully, Carkner's was. I've been going there ever since. I was very fond the the former front desk person and have found Karen to as friendly and helpful as the person before. Carkner's isn't the most economical place in town, but they're super focused on patient service. Carkner's is the best. Visit them and you won't be sorry.”
