“Din is a wonderful teacher and musician. A life long dream of mine was to go back to playing violin as an adult. I found Yamhill Music School on line and really glad that I did. Din is patient, skilled as a teacher and is a many instruments musician. I have been able to jump back into playing and building a good foundation to progress beyond where I was as a junior high school orchestra player. Very different to be in a private lesson with a musician and learning very useful insights and skill building in addition to the musical side of playing an instrument.“

“I am pleased to say the least that in my search for a great piano teacher Norm Zarr was by far well received. I am 33 years of age out of the twin city area of Minnesota where remote lessons were essential to my time well spent with Mr. Zarr being that his studio is in Portland Oregon. What I liked most of all is he focused on what I wanted out of the lessons which was how to read sheet music well. Not only did he do that, but he also taught other skills as well which I had no knowledge of prior to these lessons. I strongly recommend at least an hour session because playing piano and instruction is key to developing a good foundation not in just piano but also in music. I also wanted to mention that when seeking for teachers in my local area it was not a good experience so when Norm reached out to me during my search I was grateful because it seemed to me that not many piano teachers teach adults although they seemed willing. From my understanding he teaches both adolescents and adults. I am glad to be having Norm be apart of my piano journey until I master the piano.“

“Sarah is an incredible teacher. I'm an adult beginner (I'm 46, and I had a few years of lessons when I was very little) and in just about 2 months of (zoom) lessons so far, I am already so excited to sit down to practice every day! Sarah makes sure that I understand WHY I'm doing each exercise, she is really tuned into what I want to do with piano (play pop songs I love and sing along to them!) and she's helping me develop my musicality along with my muscle memory for playing. She's also really responsive to where I'm at on any given evening -- life is stressful, and sometimes my lesson needs to be just about finding some joy at the piano. “I have four kids, and all of them are lucky enough to have Myrna as their teacher! When I started with my oldest years ago, I was skeptical that this music program would work. I had never heard of the Yamaha method and had no idea what solfage was. Skip ahead to now, and my oldest can now compose her own music; listen to a song on the radio and play parts of it at home, and can read music! Her ears are so well trained to hear the music I feel her musical understanding is so amazing for what little time she has been with Myrna that I am totally sold on the whole thing. ALL my kids are doing so well, training their ears, and enjoying piano so much. Unlike private tutoring that felt so unconnected and disjointed, this program builds off each lesson and has such fluidity. My 4 year old just started and can't get enough! I am so beyond thankful for this music school and Myrna! This is a hidden gem and I highly recommend!“
