“I brought my 2016 Mercedes E class in with issues starting. I swore to them it must be the starter. They spent hours checking and rechecking the starter, running diagnostics, and tried their best to save me from a big bill. It turns out the nearly new battery from Canadian Tire was the cause. They replaced with a MB battery for far less than the cost of a starter motor and the car has worked great ever since.
