“A tale of two bathrooms: in this last 2 years we had both bathrooms renovated. The one on the third floor was a simple lift and shift upgrade so I decided to go with another cheaper company. It was also a test run to see if we could count on them for the larger second bathroom reno. The end result was a designer that came and wrote down the wrong measurements, a showerhead that almost doesn’t clear our heads and project management so chaotic that I had to run out and get fixtures, tiles and paint and all in the same day as there was no warning, even though the contract had said that they would supply them.
Enough to say that when I went to do the second floor large bathroom I only went with Amsted as they had done our previous complex, kitchen reno.
Paulette is a true asset and is a big piece of the design process. Along with the bathroom designer, the kept at it until they had completely reimagined the space. It was complicated as we managed to move just about every single fixture, but Amsted were able to do it without adding in any plumbing bulkhead as they were up-to-date on the latest codes and products.
Not everything went smoothly but one thing is that I knew I could count on Amsted to come in and listen and fix the problem without any need for arguing or negotiation.
I’d say if your reno is at all technically complex, then Amsted is a good choice for reducing risk and making sure it’s done to code. When it comes to finishing, they understand high-end, and were able to custom make my Pinterest dreams come true.”
