“I am not usually one to leave Google reviews but I feel this is a special circumstance. It will be long, but there is a purpose, I promise. The staff at this store are amazing. I made the mistake of going to another store in Simcoe to buy a betta fish and it was awful. I was given the wrong information about everything I needed to know about caring for this fish including the wrong equipment, care information, water/tank care etc. The staff at Paulmac's did not create any of the problems but were more than happy to help me solve them both in person and on the phone. They were kind and supportive and, most importantly, provided accurate information that helped me properly care for the fish. I understand that to some this is just a fish, but to my 10 year old it is so much more. For anyone wanting to buy a betta, I highly suggest getting all of the materials and tank, preparing the tank and testing the water BEFORE actually bringing the fish home. This is what I should have been told immediately but either someone needed to meet their sales numbers that day or they simply have no idea what they are doing. I am not sure what is worse.
