“Built the foundation, subfloor insulation, in-floor heating, and finished concrete floors for my bungalow. Straightforward rundown of the process, level of effort, and potential costs that could emerge so there'd be no surprises during construction. Well actually, there were two surprises! I was getting an update on site one day when a Provincial Health and Safety Inspector pulled in...obviously an unplanned visit. Two people got out and spoke with the foreman. I was pretty nervous! Well I didn't need to worry- the contractors made sure everything was in order for compliance. The Inspector was teaching a new recruit, and it was really interesting for me, too! The second surprise was from the municipal permit guy, who reviewed the engineer's stamped plans and decided the foundation should be fortified further due to the clay exposed during excavation. The foreman explained it to me clearly, and right away, which I appreciated as the financier! They showed me on-site why modifications were required. Once approved they pivoted the next day on enlarging the footer frames as required. The pour was well coordinated, and went off without a hitch! Once the heated floor conduits were in, they got the final pour, polish, and quality inspections done and in no time I had a beautiful new floor! I loved that the foundation didn't need parging, but instead was covered with concrete board to hide the protective membrane. Saved me a bunch and no maintenance!
That was two years ago. Every visitor to my home compliments the floors - even the 10 yr old who cuts my grass 😆 I've recommended them for huge commercial projects and my boss' garage. Same level of care was brought to both, with great results.
